AGAIN with the good-weather-for-ducks! We will probably get more than three inches before this one is over, and that's not even taking into account the winds howling. Might as well call it what it feels like: a low grade winter hurricane, and avoid it if at all possible...
And me, in my mind's eye, I'm just heading out from Iggy's in Oakland Beach, down the coast toward Quonset Point, in my "unhurried" way. Why would anyone be hurrying anyway? In my mind's eye it's actually sometime in June; the… Continue

OK, so it hasn't taken very long for a "pattern" to develop: identify reliably-rewarding destinations along the coast of Narragansett Bay and come up with a way to get to them SAFELY without four wheels. But wait, there's more! Just this week my-Colorado-brother-of-the-saddle brings to my attention this spectacular revelation: our good friends at Google are now offering up a Beta map- direction improvement; directions for the car-less, a WALKABLE option! Don't look now, but this entire thing abo… Continue

NICE weather we are having... This morning it was ten (10) degrees out there. Not the kind of temperature to draw a fair-weather bike rider, such as myself, toward the open road. Actually, even a technically "open road" in Rhode Island in January still has plenty of ice about the shoulders. "Shoulders," you know, the part of the road where you'll find BIKES. So with weather like this I'm leaving the serious riding to serious riders, like those intrepid AmeriCorps folks who bike in to work at Sav… Continue

A powerful way to help the planet in this go green movement is by using Force For Earth in your gas every time you go to the pump.It increases fuel mileage by 7-25% or more and it reduces harmful pollutions and emissions by 30% or more.I have been using this product now for 8 months and I'm saving hundreds in fuel cost each month and I'm getting an extra 70-100 miles every time I fill up depending on which gas I use and my emissions is burning almost 100% cleaner so i'm doing my part in help the… Continue

10 Water-Saving Tips
Water conservation starts at home, where our daily use of faucets, showerheads, dishwashers and toilets all add up to some unsightly numbers. Fortunately, you can dramatically reduce your water usage through helpful tips you can use throughout your home.
1. Replace older, less efficient toilets with 1.28-gallon High-Efficiency Toilets (HETs) to save
up to 16,500 gallons of water per year.

The notion of a green economy economic activity by companies and customers in the form of products, services, and business models that promote economic growth, reduced environmental impacts, and improved social well- being — gathered steam in 2008. One key driver: the U.S. presidential campaign, the first ever where both major-party candidates discussed accelerating investments in alternative energy, electric vehicles, a “smart” electric grid, and, not insignificantly, the g… Continue
The "trend" these days seems to be "green weddings" & "Green Corporate". It is hard to believe that the excess of weddings and company picnics past is finally come to a haunting realization. CEO's and planners are aware more than ever of the many excesses that occur when planning a large and or a once in a lifetime event. It is easy to get carried away. The green is a concern to everyone because of the economy...and the environment. Is anyone really going to care if you have custom designed… Continue
