The Award-winning JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum

and Senator Roch RIVERWALK

RIverpoint Community Park

W. Warwick, R.I.

Approximately 400 linear foot Naturepath, that possess over seventy-two(72)

species of shrubs, mini-trees and ornamental bushes along with hundreds of annual public tree/flower plantings as you enter the breathtaking trails of the Senator Roch Riverwalk for another 1.3 miles.

The esplanade Corridor has a JAYCEE Community Leadership Stone with over seven-hundred New England Cobbler Bricks as an entrance of warm welcome and a striking plaza-style footprint within an urban center of that locale.

It allows for a semi-pervious, tarred-substance pathway that is handicapped access and is lined as a divide between adjacent soccer and ballfields with nine(9) huge White Ash Trees.

It also houses a beautiful Native American (Narragansett Indians) Display Case that holds the town's Tree Care and Preservation Act (a/k/a) The JAYCEE Green Law) and the multi-community Pawtuxet River Authority & Watershed Council original 1972 legislation.

The Corridor provides for an oversized, Trellis or Arbor that was erected by Boy Scout Eagle Candidates. This offers a quaint portal to the majestic state Senator Donald Roch Monument and RIVERWALK, that welcomes visitors to a 1.3 mile meandering wilderness trail along the confluence of the Pawtuxet River - Rhode Island's longest waterway.

The Arboretum and Roch Riverwalk are extraordinary pathways that intersect with the West Bay BikePath ( - a 3.1 mile segment of the multi-state East Coast Greenway - ) that when completed, the (ECG) will be a 2,600-mile corridor along existing and planned trails in a continuous city to city greenway on the Eastern seaboard).

The natural, pervious, park-like, wilderness trails of the JAYCEE Corridor, cascades through wildlife habitats that gradually approaches an on-street boulevard, which connects to the newly created Pawtuxet River Walkway Project (West Warwick Riverwalk), that offers a continuity of mill conversion buildings and the ambiance of a state-of-the-art walkway with kiosks, largos and powerful waterfalls.

It has received many community and preservation awards! It was founded and created by the Kent County JAYCEES of Rhode Island (United States Junior Chamber) in 1998 recognition to the memory of James Humbert-Louis 'Jimmy' Lancellotta, a local man who was dedicated to Boy Scouts activities and School Boy Sports!

The JAYCEE Education & Library Foundation is the primary funding source of its extensive maintenance as it regularly provides botanical and horticultural training events for schools, senior centers and the general public.

The Award-Winning JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum is featured in many quality publications and was recently cited by the Providential Gardner in Rhode Island.

It's home base, the Town of West Warwick is a TREE CITY/USA Community!
